steller makes sale 2

I finally found some time to get these pictures up onto the blog. It took so long, because Ive been so busy. Moving towns, creating bigger projects and fiddling around.

In pretty basic words, I can definately say that this 'very special garage sale' experience was quite challenging. I was warned that people would be at my door at 6am with torches and pushy attitudes, desperate for my belongings. Luckily I didnt advertise, so the early birds slept in a little. Anxiously riding on a couple of hours sleep, the beast started trotting at 8 am with the first pokey noses at my door. I told them to come back at 9, untill a lovely young couple rocked up and I trusted them enough, to let them into my house, brouse around while I prepared other things and took photos of the items that were going to leave.

It was so interesting watching people come into your house and how they treated the event. Some are there for straight up bargain, and others, like the first ones that I let in, quietly tip toed around the house, slowly watching and picking up and testing my personal belongings with care and unusual caution. Occasionally, quietly asking me...why I was doing this? where was I going? and what the objects were and what they meant to me.

The more bargain hunters that came in, the more I started to freak. I had to be direct about the price of certain items, and communicate the meaning that had been mapped over some objects.

Ahh...Blog site failing....to be continued.......

steller makes house clean

Friends of mine have lost the cleaning services of their weekly cleaner, Cheryl, for one month. Jessica, my good friend, was distraught that this fabulous woman wouldn't be available to wave her magic wand around their cobweb infested abode. Jessica could not speak more highly of Cheryl. Cheryl cleans, but also cooks AMAZING food and beholds a generous wealth of gardening knowledge (to name only a few talents). Given my tight financial situation and Cheryl's absence, I offered weekly cleaning services to Jessica. The offer was taken.

My first day was tough. The house is incredibly demanding and I had such a high standard to try and match... I was feeling down about this and felt that there was need for invention. Invention of a new and exciting quality service. A service not bound by convention. A service of unlimited and entertaining surprise.

This was the ground set for my new project... steller makes a house clean. Each week I will be adorned in a new 'there's no way shazza can top this one' outfit.

I plan to keep you all updated on the latest and greatest cleaning fashions. This is week one.....

steller makes a home

A few shots in winterrrrrrtime when I first moved in. Frosty and bear boned garden. That sneaky black shape in the top photo is Rudy. My new flatdogmate soon to go on a different adventure. God Bless Rudy.

The Ladies Garden. Shared with he lovely lady neighbours next door, Martine and Manon this garden has produced some ripper vegies. The new crop is expecting tomatoes soon. But for now I just pick the tommy leaves, squish and smell. My favourite aroma - the tomato leaf. Takes me back to being a kid and helping mama with the gardening, back in the eastern burbs of melbourne.

more new and better pics coming, i promise...
